Ani Mercedes was born in the Dominican Republic. She is a filmmaker, photographer, and educator. Mercedes holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Chicago, and an MPA from Syracuse University. She also directed “The Hall” (14) and “Hand built Boat”(15) is her second film as a director.
