Lalo and Roberto’s grandfather gave them one last mission: to take care of Elephant, his beloved horse. When Elephant is kidnapped by a member of a traveling circus, the boys end up embarking on a wild adventure. Once they find themselves at the Circus Pavón, they meet Manuela, the young tightrope walker, who immediately befriends them. It turns out that the circus is a refuge for all kinds of eccentric characters.
There’s Infausto, the knife thrower, Sr. Pavón, the circus owner, and Juana, the star of the show. While waiting patiently for the perfect moment to set Elephant free, Lalo and Roberto uncover a plot to destroy the circus—and their determination to rescue their grandfather’s horse turns into a much grander quest that either could have ever imagined.
A delightful mixture of fantasy and true stories from the childhoods of Lalo and Roberto Parra—siblings of the famous Chilean singer-songwriter Violeta Parra—Elephant: A Horse is a colorful tale of friendship and heroism over the hills and under the big top. – Eloisa Lopez-Gomez
