Camila Toker was born in Buenos Aires in 1975. She trained as an actress, also studying art direction and film direction. Upa! Una Película Argentina – winner of the 2007 Best Argentinian Movie category at BAFICI – was her debut film, which she co-wrote and co-directed. It also participated at festivals like the Berlinale, Locarno, and the Havana Film Festival. She has recently finished Upa! 2 El Regreso (2015).
Camila will be receiving the award Miami Film 2016, a cash prize courtesy of The Related Group, for her project in development entitled The Death of Marga Maier (La muerte de Marga Maier), produced by Pablo Ingercher (Oh My Gómez! Films).
